5 reasons your blonde gloss went too dark
So you get done rinsing your blonde client only to realize your gloss turned out darker than you wanted 😫
Here's why it may have happened:
- You didn’t add enough warmth: Warmth is your best friend for creating a bright, healthy looking blonde. I usually make ¼ of my formula a warm tone.
- You didn’t add clear: Clear isn’t always necessary, but it really helps for hair with porosity issues! Clear is like an insurance policy for blonde glosses. It will slow down the processing time and ensure that the super porous pieces don’t get muddy or too dark.
- The level you used was too dark: I always err on the side of staying lighter with my gloss. I can always go darker if needed!
- You didn’t account for the porosity of the hair: Porosity drastically affects how the color processes, so you really want to consider this when formulating. Clear and warmth are your best defenses against porous hair!
- Hair is unpredictable sometimes: Sometimes you can do every little thing right and formulate perfectly and the hair doesn’t do what it “should” do. Hair is weird!
