Check Out This Week's BCU Featured Stylist - Nicole @hairxnikki
Meet this week's BCU Featured Stylist! Nicole's color work caught my eye because it's so natural and effortless!
Let's get to know Nicole! She's a low maintenance, lived in balayage specialist out of Pembroke Pines, FL. You can find her on Instagram at @hairxnikki. I asked Nicole a few questions so I could learn more about her and her journey. Check out our conversation below!!
+How long have you been doing hair?
3 years
+Tell me about yourself. Are you a salon owner? Booth renter? Commission stylist? What is your specialty behind the chair. What are your goals?
I am a booth renter who specializes in low maintenance lived in balayages. My ultimate goal is to become faster and more efficient behind the chair. I understand that people have busy lives and the sometimes they can’t spend hours in our chair.
+What's been the best advice you have ever received?
The best advice that has ever been given to me is to always be true to yourself and understand that mistakes will happen and not every client will always be happy. Humbly take it as a learning experience and work on your skills to do better.
+What do you feel is your greatest strength?
I would say that my greatest strength is my ability to connect with my clients and be empathetic to their situations. I’ve always been a people person and as a stylist, I can say that it goes way beyond hair. People open up to you about their current situations and struggles.
+What advice do you have for other stylists?
The best advice I could give another stylist is that time is your bestfriend. Every hiccup is a learning opportunity. Time and continuing your education will help you become a better stylist as you grow in the field. Be patient.
+What do you feel is the most valuable part of being a BCU member?
Being a BCU member has been extremely valuable to my career because it’s allowed me to learn different techniques to help conquer my goal of being a faster stylist. The tips and tricks are beneficial for placement and blending to make the most out of your time behind the chair. Being a part of the BCU community allows you to interact with other stylists and learn from different perspectives.
+Anything else you’d like to share?
As a mom of 3 and currently pregnant with my 4th and having done Cosmetology school in the midst of a pandemic, I feel incredibly humbled to be recognized by being featured. Hard work truly pays off! Time is everything.
