Meet this week's BCU Featured Stylist! You can tell by her Instagram that Sierra has a passion for all things color!

Let's get to know Sierra! She's a color specialist out of Liberty Lake, Washington. You can find her on Instagram at @styles_by_sierrac. I asked Sierra a few questions so I could learn more about her and her journey. Check out our conversation below!!

+How long have you been doing hair? 
I started my cosmetology journey in 2019, taking on the beginning of the covid pandemic while being pregnant in cosmetology school!

+Tell me about yourself. Are you a salon owner? Booth renter? Commission stylist? What is your specialty behind the chair. What are your goals?
I booth rent at Epic Hair & Barber, where I started my first salon job in 2021! I like to say I specialize in ALL things color, whether that be bright vivids or blonding and balayage! I'm extremely happy with where I'm at in my salon home, and I'm so proud of how far I've come! My goals right now are perfecting my practice, and trying to be better at my job every single day.

+What's been the best advice you have ever received?
Hustle! Put in the work and time for the results you want to see. You get out what you put in!

+What do you feel is your greatest strength?
I believe my greatest strength is my empathy and connection. It's one thing to be good at hair, but to keep a good, steady clientele, you need to have a welcoming personality that keeps people coming back to you specifically. I can't help to end up treating my clients like friends and family!

+What advice do you have for other stylists?
Find a mentor! Whether that be someone you know and look up to, or a popular hair stylist known by many!

+What do you feel is the most valuable part of being a BCU member?
Continuing education is an important part of continuous success! That's exactly what BCU does for me.

+Anything else you'd like to share?
I have followed BCU for years now and so appreciate all of the amazing tips and tricks I've learned along the way.
