How to get faster at color
The thing is that you could do 200 highlights and 300 root melts in a row and eventually, with repetition, you’ll get faster. And speed is really not that important in my opinion! We all work at our own pace! What I think people mean when they ask me this is how can they get more efficient at color. Even if you’re the fastest foiler you could still run into the issue of foiling for forever and not really getting the result you wanted. To me it’s not really speed that’s the key…it’s efficiency. Let me explain the 3 things that helped me improve my efficiency:
✨GET CLEAR ON WHERE YOU’RE HEADED: getting your consultation skills down and knowing what questions to ask are crucial for getting a clear picture of where you need to go. Also learning how to analyze an inspo photo and determine how to get where you need to do is huge!
✨KNOW WHAT PRODUCTS CAN GET YOU THERE: not just what level to pick, but what type of color? Can a demi color get you where you need to go or do you need permanent? Will highlift do the trick or do you need lightener? And which lightener do you need? Don’t waste your time with a product that isn’t going to do the job!
✨BE PURPOSEFUL WITH PLACEMENT: a diagonal, horizontal and vertical section each give a different end result. And there’s a time and a place for each! Knowing when to pick which can be huggeee for saving time & working efficiently!
