Let's talk about negative space
This concept took me so long to understand. Because our mind immediately goes to: more foils, better result…right!?
Not exactly. Let me explain a little bit about what I call negative space.
✅ Negative space is the space left out between the foils. This is so important because:
👉🏼 blonde needs something to pop against in order to look bright
👉🏼 not everyone wants to be full throttle, mega blonde, so preserving some dimension can be really important to give them the look they want
👉🏼 the amount of negative space can really dictate a lot about the maintenance requirements of your look. If someone is aiming for a really low maintenance, dimensional look, you’ll need to be sure to NOT overfoil and be mindful of the negative space you’re leaving. And vice versa if they want a super blonde, high maintenance look. Less hair needs to be left out of the foils.
I created a brand new course called Foundations of Foiling and in it there’s an entire module on the 5 key points of blonding, and negative space is one of those 5 key points.
I go in depth about my new FoF course in my FREE masterclass where I also talk about how I went from feeling terrified and anxious about blonding to feeling more confident! (Plus there’s a discount offer for Foundations of Foiling and some special bonuses when you purchase the special masterclass deal).
