When to use tip outs vs. wet balayage
Have you ever wondered “how do I know whether I need to use wet balayage or tip outs in foils to brighten?”
Generally it’s based on how much lift you’re wanting. My client on the left needs a slight pop on her ends so wet balayage is enough. My client on the right is living at a really warm level 7. She needs multiple levels of lift so tip outs in foils are the best choice.
Let me explain a bit further:
⚡️WET BALAYAGE:
•ideal for 1-2 levels of lift max
•great for lifting through old product or purple shampoo buildup
•perfect on blondes that are already fairly solidly blonde
⚡️TIP OUTS IN FOILS:
•ideal for achieving multiple levels of lift
•perfect for lifting through old brass or warmth
•great for brightening ends that have a blend light and dark (wet balayage on hair that’s got level 9 mixed with a significant amount of level 6 and below can end up really warm)
